Arizona backyards are something special- they are a gathering place, a year-round oasis. Our Scottsdale show home received a makeover where we transformed this space from an everyday backyard to a focal piece of the home and the perfect place to entertain.

The challenge
Replace standard specification 6" downlights and ceiling fan with custom tounge and groove woodwork, incorporating small aperture lighting, speakers and patio heaters into the TNG. Add layers of linear light to compliment the new bar area and around the pool, as well as decorative accent in the ceiling that carries down the wall.
The goals
- Create a space that is perfect for entertaining

- Replace outdoor TV with a model designed for bright sunlight
- Install layers of linear lighting along pool and in the ceiling woodwork
- Create rich sound around the pool perimeter with landscape audio and in seating areas with concealed, small aperture speakers that are able to be controlled in individual zones with distributed audio
Our approach
Maude Haus Interiors and Signature Custom Homes partnered with Wipliance to create this impactful installation of linear and recessed lighting that is directly integrated into the tongue and groove wood accents. Outdoor patio heaters and concealed small aperture speakers bring full functionality of light, heat and sound without distracting from the design. Rich wood tones are complimented by the bright limestone caps to balance the classic Arizona architecture.
Lighting transforms a space- and having multiple layers allows you to accent the features of your home and create a warm and inviting atmosphere. This home features the first showcase installation of Vibrant linear LED lighting by SnapAV and Control4, which offers a wide spectrum of RGB color for large impact. DMF's new iX series of small aperture down lights directly integrated into the rich wood ceiling offer functional light for walkways without creating glare or distraction. The wine bar offers integrated layers of linear lighting under the countertop and toe kick for function and beauty, and to create horizontal balance to the bold vertical linear design.
And of course- for the ultimate outdoor movie night- the Samsung Terrace Patio TV offers models for shade and sun applications that can withstand the elements and offer fantastic contrast and picture in all times of day. Even with all of this technology, the space can be easily managed thanks to home automation provided by Wipliance. A robust Control4 and Lutron ecosystem insures reliable performance and elegant touch and voice controls that can be managed from anywhere.
