Recently, Wipliance and DMF Lighting joined forces on YouTube to showcase DMF’s retrofit lighting solutions. Here, you’ll see the remarkable changes their advanced high-quality LED fixtures offer and how easy they are to integrate into your existing lighting.

DMF aligns with all the latest trends, including the quiet ceiling. Far different than DIY LED solutions, they illuminate a home in brilliant layers of light with applications that include ambient, task, and accent.

Let’s look at the changes that can happen when you integrate DMF’s Artafex, the company’s retrofit solution.

The Importance of High-Quality Light

While there was a time when our home’s lighting was simply a way to see in the dark, all that has changed. Today’s advanced systems, like DMF, deliver enhanced performance and aesthetics with changeable illumination for life’s varying activities.

As the benefits of LED lights become clear, more homeowners than ever are looking to upgrade their lighting. Many go to a big box dealer and pick up some LED lights to replace the incandescent bulbs in their 4 to 6-inch cans. These, however, don’t look good and produce washed-out lighting as they dim. They’re not a helpful solution. The other option is often a complete upgrade that involves demoing the ceiling and electrical system.

Upgrade Lighting the Right Way

DMF’s retrofit solutions let you use the existing housing and leave the wiring in place. With patch and paint, they can even reduce the size of the fixture. This advanced system offers the following features:

  • Smooth, flicker-free dimming down to 1%
  • Lights settle into a soft, warm glow
  • Phenomenal color quality with 98+ CRI
  • Incredible selection of sizes and trims
  • Adjustable fixtures

The result is bright, vibrant lighting when performing tasks and a warm glow when it’s time to relax. They’re also capable of 360 degrees of rotation and 45 degrees of tilt, making it easy to change the beam angles and create task, accent, or ambient light.

These layers of light are the key to three-dimensional lighting with depth and intrigue.

The Project

In this project, Wipliance transformed the lighting in the guest bedroom, the laundry room, the living areas, and the office. We performed a simple, quick upgrade in the bedroom, using 6-inch trims in the existing housing. When dimmed, these lights provide a soft, even light ideal for relaxation.

In the laundry room, we took it down to 4-inch trims to provide some sophistication and a minimalist approach. The office is where we went all out. These fixtures went down to 2-inch trims, aligning with today’s quiet ceiling. We added a layer of accent lighting for artwork and architectural features, as well as task lighting to ensure productivity. The result was a professional, dynamic environment.

In the living areas, we added soft, decorative lighting to create a cozy environment and indirect lighting for relaxation and warmth. These layers of light enable you to transform the aesthetics, shifting between lighting designed for tasks and softer, mood-setting illumination.
