Wipliance LLC, one of the nation’s leading system integrators headquartered in Bellevue, WA, was recognized with the 2022 Lutron Excellence Award for Best Resimercial Systems on their work on the Spire residences.

Spire is a 343-residence condominium tower in the South Lake Union neighborhood in Seattle- situated in the shadow of the Space Needle. Though a commercial project in many aspects of construction, there are many residential elements within the amenities spaces and residences. Wipliance’s involvement in this project started years before the tower was constructed, and required close collaboration with the developers, marketing team and commercial contractors responsible for elements of construction and wiring.

Wipliance fully outfitted the offsite sales center and model with Homeworks and Triathlon shading. We created a 3D projection system that allowed residents to see the future view from their condo via augmented reality. The Spire team had a vision of creating tailored packages for buyers to be able to easily add upgrades from a streamlined selection of approved offerings for shades and lighting controls.

In the finished building, Wipliance provided over 3700 Lutron shades ranging from manual to wireless motorized in every window of the tower. In addition to the private residences, Wipliance furnished Lutron shades and Homeworks controls for the building’s amenities spaces which include a chef’s kitchen, movie theater, coworking space, executive lounge, dance studio and 3 gyms- all with amazing views.

This project has been featured in Connected Design Magazine and Wipliance continues to work with Spire homeowners today to further enhance their residences with home automation solutions.

With Internet of Things technology powering a growing number of devices in buildings, real-time updates from cloud-stored data becoming the daily norm, and remote management now at consumer fingertips, the idea of personalized building automation has taken on a life of its own.

“We used to spend the majority of our time installing high-end audio/visual systems, but now we install everything from climate control to lighting, window treatments, security, and more, into living and work spaces,” said Lee Travis, owner of Wipliance LLC.

Travis launched Wipliance in 2006 and operates the Bellevue headquarters location; a second location in Scottsdale, Arizona; and an electrical-contracting company. In total, his combined workforce is now 30 strong.

Today, the company supports residential installs, as well as notable commercial building projects such as the new SPIRE luxury condominium tower in downtown Seattle. Other commercial customers include restaurants and bars, tenant improvement contractors, and companies looking to automate board rooms or other conference spaces.

Individual presales have begun at SPIRE, a 347-unit, 41-story condominium high-rise under construction at 600 Wall St. in the Belltown neighborhood. A new, 5000-sq. ft. sales center has opened at 2218 5th Avenue. Sales representatives will host public tours beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27 for this much-anticipated presale opportunity. Prospective buyers will experience a full-scale model home, a design center, a 9-foot scale model of the tower, a context model of the neighborhood and immersive virtual-reality tours on a life-sized display screen to help convey the final product offering.

Leading into the weekend, the SPIRE sales team accepted more than 100 first-position reservations along with several second- and third-position commitments on popular floor plans. Reservation activity recorded more than $125 million in potential presales ahead of SPIRE’s official launch this weekend. These reservations are now being converted into sales along with new transactions for prospective homebuyers that visit the sales center.
